Spot pepper prices edged up on Tuesday as sellers of the indigenous produce were not ready to sell at the prevailing prices. As a result, only imported pepper was traded today. Thirty tonnes of Sri Lankan material went for ₹390-395 a kg on the terminal market. Spot prices gained by ₹100 a quintal to ₹42,200 (garbled) and ₹40,200 (ungarbled). Export prices were at $6,850 a tonne c&f for Europe and $7,100 for the US.
