Spot pepper slipped further on Wednesday on over supply of imported pepper. Indian importers in Karnataka were reported to have brought in pepper from Vietnam paying 54 per cent duty and at "heavily under-invoiced" price, trade sources told Business Line . Meanwhile, authorities were checking import documents of consignments of pepper held in various ports and ICDs, they said. On the terminal market five tonneswere traded at ₹400 a kg. Spot prices fell by ₹200 a quintal to close at ₹41,800 (ungarbled) and ₹43800 (garbled) a quintal. Indian export prices were at $7,000 a tonne c&f for Europe and $7,250 a tonne c&f for the US.
