Only few bags of good-quality turmeric arrived for sale at the turmeric markets in Erode. For the past few days, only medium and poor-quality turmeric has been arriving for sale. Only 30 to 40 bags of good-quality Salem variety turmeric is arriving for sale and such Salem finger turmeric was sold at ₹8,200-8,400 a quintal, while the local medium variety turmeric is selling at ₹7,000-7,200, said Krishnamurthy a trader.
Good-quality Salem finger turmeric decreased by ₹200 a quintal at the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association sales yard .
