Spot pepper prices ruled steady on matching demand and supply. Markets were on a holiday mood for Diwali in the upcountry and hence the activities were also sluggish today, trade sources said. Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹43,300 (ungarbled) and ₹45,300 (garbled) a quintal. On the terminal market, 20 tonnes were traded today. The material arrived were from the high ranges but were mixture of imported pepper. It was traded at ₹430-445 a kg. Export prices were at $7,225 a tonne c&f for Europe and $7,475 for the US.
