Sugar prices on the Vashi market rose by ₹10-15 a quintal tracking firm mill tender rates amid higher demand. Naka rates were up ₹30-50.
Mills sold the commodity, especially S-grade, at ₹50 higher. Arrivals and local dispatches too were higher. Vashi market currently carries about 110-115 truck loads inventory. On Saturday evening, hardly 10-12 mills offer tenders and sold hardly 23,000-24,000 bags at ₹2,350-2,450 (2,300-90) for S-grade and ₹2,410-2,530 (2,410-2,530) for M-grade.
Arrivals were at 63-65 truck loads while local dispatches were 60-62 loads. Freight rates were steady.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,396-2,502 (2,392-2,522) and M-grade ₹2,480-2,602 (2,480-2,592). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,380-2,480 (2,350-2,450) and M-grade ₹2,500-2,600 (2,450-2,570).
