Vijayan Rajes of MSP Plantations in Yercaud has been elected as President of Upasi and N Dharmaraj, Chief Executive and Wholetime Director of Harrisons Malayalam, as Vice-President of the association for 2014-15.
The decision was taken at the United Planters Association of Southern India AGM on Tuesday.
Rajes had been an executive committee member of the association since 2002-03, had served as the member of Coffee Board during 1990-93, and was the Chairman of Planters’ Association of Tamil Nadu and Shevaroy Planters’ Association.
Dharmaraj, founder Convener of the Golden Leaf India Awards (TGLIA), was a member of the Tea Board, and currently a member of the Tea Council of South India constituted by the Tea Board as also a member of the core committee of the Tea Board of India.
