The Andhra Pradesh High Court has dismissed the bail petition of Kadapa MP, Mr Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, in connection with the illegal assets case on Wednesday. In his order, Mr Justice S. Govindarajulu said bail could not be granted to Mr Reddy as investigation was still in progress. The court also agreed with the Central Bureau of Investigation’s contention that Mr Reddy could use his power and influence as a member of parliament to tamper evidence against him. Though three charge-sheets were filed in the case besides one supplementary charge-sheet, there were more aspects to be investigated, the Court said. Mr Reddy, who is also president of YSR Congress Party, was arrested on May 27 and is currently in judicial remand.
