The Finance Ministry has imposed definitive anti-dumping duty on Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) imports from China.
Based on the recommendations of the Designated Authority in its second sunset review, the revenue department has imposed anti-dumping duty of $ 2,637 per tonne on PTFE imports from China.
PTFE is primarily used in electrical, electronic, mechanical and chemical industries for its unique characteristics like chemical inertness, electrical and thermal insulation and outstanding electrical properties over a wide frequency range.
Gujarat Fluorochemicals had filed the petition seeking second sunset review investigation on PTFE imports from China.
The latest definitive antidumping duty, which is applicable from July 28, would be valid for period of five years.
