Experts from Asian and Pacific countries are mulling a strategy for the development of tourism to accelerate the economic growth and cooperation in the APEC region.
“They will present their conclusions and recommendations to the APEC ministers of tourism, who will meet in Khabarovsk on July 23-24 within the framework of preparations for the APEC summit,” the organising committee has said.
The head of Russia’s federal agency for tourism, Mr Alexander Radkov, will chair the conference.
The conference will focus on issues like sustainability of business in this sphere, effectiveness of integration, risk reduction and security and liberalisation of aviation services.
“The tourism is one of the most dynamically developing industries in the Asia-Pacific Region.
“All representatives of APEC economies share a common goal — the need for raising the quality of tourist services,” experts said.
Tourist sector plays an important role in the development of regional cooperation and promotion of understanding among the region’s economies.
Sustainable development of tourism stimulates economic growth in the APEC region, promotes the creation of new jobs, draws investments and helps protect the environment.
