Assets case: Jagan files bail petition in High Court

The Kadapa MP and YSR Congress President, Mr Y. Jaganmohan Reddy, has filed a bail petition in Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday.

Mr Reddy was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation on May 27, 2012 in connection with the illegal assets case and is presently in judicial remand in Chenchalguda jail here.

In his bail plea, Mr Reddy requested the High Court to grant him bail in view of his status as a Member of Parliament and president of a political party.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the Enforcement Directorate had served notice to Mr Reddy in connection with its petition in the CBI court seeking permission to question him.
