A mellowed Baba Ramdev, flanked by his aide Acharya Balakrishna, on Thursday declared the assets of his business empire.
At a press conference in Haridwar, Mr Balakrishna said all the institutions run by him were being run according to Government norms and the audited balance sheets of its various arms had been put up on their Web site, www.divyayoga.com.
He said that the capital involving the four Trusts run by Baba Ramdev totalled Rs 426.19 crore. The Divya Yoga Mandir Trust had a capital of Rs 249.63 crore, Patanjali Yoga Peeth Trust Rs 164.80 crore, Bharat Swabhiman Trust Rs 9.97 crore and Acharyakul Shiksha Sansthan Rs 1.79 crore.
The expenditure outlined for these Trusts since their inception came to Rs 751.02 crore, he added.
Mr Balakrishna said the Trust spent Rs 249 crore on charity alone.
When prodded about details of the 30-odd companies, Mr Balakrishna said that information could be accessed from the Registrar of Companies, using the RTI Act.
Meanwhile, the Yoga Guru, whose fast entered the sixth day, chose not to speak at the press meet. He, however, clarified that his remarks on raising an ‘army' had been twisted.
“I am not making terrorists, Naxalites and Maoists. I am only developing a nationalist force. It is for self-defence,” he said.
