Metro and light rail systems are very much on the agenda of the Modi Government.
Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley, in his ongoing budget speech, has said that cities with a population of more than two million should consider of setting up metro rail systems for which support would be provide by the Centre in the form of viability gap funding.
In the current fiscal, Rs 100 crore would be provided for metro rail project in Lucknow, he said.
