Piyush Goyal to address BusinessLine’s post-Budget talk

The Budget will be remembered as the last full Budget in the run up to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. With an evident push towards agriculture, the government is looking to woo a larger section of electorates.

To help decode the Budget and what it means, BusinessLine and Sastra Deemed University will host a ‘Post-Budget Talk’ powered by FICCI.

Union Minister for Railways and Coal, Piyush Goyal, who will be the Chief Guest, will chart the vision of the government on ambitious schemes announced in the Budget such as Ayushman Bharat, the world’s largest universal health insurance scheme.

At his keynote address, Member, 15th Finance Commission and India’s G20 Sherpa, Shaktikanta Das, will capitalise on his vast experience to identify the key takeaways from the Budget and how the country’s economy would shape up.

The panel discussion on the Budget will be moderated by R Srinivasan, Editor, BusinessLine . Principal Economic Advisor, Ministry of Finance, Sanjeev Sanyal; Past President, FICCI and currently Executive Chairman of Great Eastern Energy Corporation Ltd, YK Modi, and Secretary General, FICCI, Sanjaya Baru, will answer questions of how the government will balance the fiscal in the run up to an election year.
