Anand Mahindra, Executive Chairman of Mahindra Group , has said that some Budget initiatives show the determination to shed the skin of legacy and step firmly into the future.
In a series of four tweets after the Budget presentation on Wednesday, Mahindra said on principle he never makes pre/post Budget comments. Budget shouldn’t be seen as the main policy reform instrument.
However, he said, he was elated by the initiatives such as reforms in political funding, merging of the Rail Budget, abolition of FIPB and removal of plan/non-plan labels.
“These steps are big signals about the government’s mindset. Shows its determination to shed the skin of legacy and step firmly into the future," he said.
"And of course, the market reaction to the Budget confirms that the appropriate description of budget-watching is: “Waiting to exhale..” ,” he said in his tweet.
