The Central Bureau of Investigation has named five accused including the former Karnataka Minister, Mr Gali Janaradhana Reddy, and the Managing Director of Obulapuram Mining Company, in its chargesheet filed in the CBI special court here on Saturday in the illegal mining case.
“Our investigation is still pending and there is a possibility of filing a supplementary chargesheet going forward,’’' Mr Laskhminarayana, Joint Director, CBI, told newspersons after filing the chargesheet.
The investigating agency had used advanced methods such as satellite imagery and forensic accounting in the investigation, the details of which were included in the chargesheet.
Interestingly, the name of suspended senior IAS officer and former mining secretary, Ms Srilakshmi, has not figured in the chargesheet. “We still need to ascertain details given by her in the interrogation,’’ Mr Lakshminarayana said.
The 186-page chargesheet contained a list of 201 witnesses and 607 documents.
