The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday sought special court’s permission to subject Kadapa MP, Mr Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, to narco analysis tests in the illegal assets case.
The tests were necessary as Mr Reddy was not revealing anything in the interrogation, the CBI counsel submitted to the court.
The agency has so far, questioned the YSR Congress party chief for seven days in its custody after his arrest on May 27.
The counsel for Mr Reddy countered by saying that narco tests were conducted only on terrorists and were not scientifically accepted. Hearing on the petition was adjourned to June 14.
Meanwhile, when presented before the magistrate on expiry of remand, Mr Reddy complained that the CBI officials were “humiliating’’ him. He was brought to the court in an ordinary police vehicle instead of a bullet proof vehicle, he said.
The court directed the Chenchalguda jail authorities to provide a bullet-proof vehicle to Mr Reddy and extend all facilities available to him as a special class prisoner. His remand was also extended till June 25.
