On the Women’s Day this year, a motley group of 250 women from industries and professions have gathered.
“About 250 women have celebrated it a little differently. Rather than the usual chocolates-and-flowers routine, these women decided to gift themselves a second lease of life in the form of a return to the workplace,” Saundarya Rajesh, founder-President of AVTAR Career Creators, said.
The women have taken part in the Segue, which means moving from one stage to another. Segue sessions focus on skill-building activities to equip the women with additional tools that can fetch them jobs in their second innings.
“All these women who have taken a break in career on account of marriage, childbirth or elder care, spent the day developing the skills required to make a re-entry into the workplace,” Saundarya said here in a press release.
The audience represent women in the age group of 28 to 50, with around 3-20 years of work experience and having taken a break in career.
Google’s ‘Women Entrepreneurs on the Web’, Wells Fargo, Microsoft, Naturals, Vodafone and GENPACT were also involved in the session.
