The Minister for Corporate Affairs, Mr Veerappa Moily on Tuesday said that the Companies Bill has been sent to the Cabinet and will be passed by the Parliament this year.
“We will try our best to introduce the Bill in Parliament in the monsoon session. We will make sure it is passed in this session, and if not, then definitely in the winter session,” said Mr Moily, speaking on the sidelines of a FICCI event.
Stressing that Corporate Social Responsibility should be a part of the DNA of every corporate, Mr Moily said, “The Indian private sector’s continuing CSR and ‘feel-good’ philanthropy of risk-mitigation initiatives need to evolve into business models that can create value for themselves, social enterprises and society.”
