Dalit entrepreneurs in Andhra Pradesh are all set to start State Chapter of Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI).
Mr Damodar Rajanarasimha, Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and a dalit leader himself, will formally launch the chapter on January 10 here. DICCI's founder-Chairman, Mr Milind Kamble, will take part in the inauguration.The first general body of State chapter will meet that day.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Mr Ravi Kumar Narra, convener of the Andhra Pradesh chapter, said dalit entrepreneurs were facing problems from banks in getting credit. Despite a Central Government stipulation, new dalit entrepreneurs were being asked to show collateral to get loans.
The six-year-old DICCI has chapters in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Chhattisgarh.
