Development dialogue to focus on ‘Thriving in ecosystem'

The Deshpande Center for Social Entrepreneurship's sixth edition of ‘Development Dialogue' to be held in Hubli, is to focus on ‘Thriving in ecosystem'.

The Development Dialogue will be held for three days - January 15-17 at BVB College Campus, Hubli. The dialogue will also feature development debates, showcasing success stories in north-western Karnataka and an opportunity to meet people who are making an impact across the world.

Addressing reporters on Thursday, the Founder of Deshpande Foundation, Mr Gururaj Deshpande, said the dialogue this year will focus on the ‘Thriving in ecosystem' and the discussions would be focused on how a well structured ecosystem could create a favourable environment for growth and development.

Mr Gururaj ‘Desh' Deshpande is a serial entrepreneur, who is also Co-Founder of Sycamore Networks, US.

The Chairman Emeritus of Infosys Ltd, Mr N.R. Narayana Murthy, would be key speaker at the development dialogue. And other keynote speakers included the Principal Secretary of Primary and Secondary Education, Mr G. Kumar Naik, the Co-Founder of SELCO, Mr Harish Hande, the Chairman of Nabard, Mr Aloysius P. Fernandez, and others.

Mr Naveen Jha, Chief Executive, Deshpande Center for Social Entrepreneurship, said that the panellists would be throwing light on various development related issues such as education, health, livelihood, agriculture, entrepreneurship, human resources challenges and others.

He also said that as many as 63 delegates from the US including industrialists, philanthropists and academic from MIT Massachusetts, Boston, would be participating in the event.

Representatives, 192, of various non-Governmental organisations of Karnataka, 200 persons from across India and 77 speakers from India and abroad would be participating in the Development Dialogue.
