Indiaproperty.com today said a “distinct” shift in preference of people in Chennai from two BHK (Bedroom Hall Kitchen) to three BHK units.
The company Vice President and Business Head Mr Ganesh Vasudevan said compared to Q2 of 2011, in the last three quarters the demand for 2BHKs had gone down by 16 per cent while that for 3BHKs had shot up by 18 per cent.
Also more NRIs were showing interest in buying property as Q1 of 2012 had witnessed 8.43 per cent increase in number of inquiries by the non-resident Indians.
He attributed depreciation of Indian rupee being the most telling reason for increase in NRI interest in property.
