Dr Roman Holowinsky, Ohio State University, Colombus, Ohio, US, was today awarded the Sastra Ramanujam award and a cash prize of $10,000 at Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre, SASTRA University, for his work in analytic number theory and theory modular forms.
The event was got up on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of mathematical prodigy Srinivasa Ramanujan.
He was presented the award by Mr R Kannan, Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department. Dr Holowinsky later delivered the commemorative lecture.
Prof. Eknath Ghate Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, Prof. Krishnaswamy Alladi, University of Florida, US, Dr.herald Helfgott, University Walk, UK, Dr Paul Nelson, Ecole Polytechnique, Switzerland, presented papers on various topics related to number theory, Ergodic theory and Dynamics.
