Due date for filing of IT returns extended in Sikkim

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the due date of filing of IT returns for assessment year 2011-12 from September 30 to October 31 for income tax (IT) assessees who are assessed at Sikkim. This move follows reports of disturbance of general life caused due to earthquake in the State of Sikkim. The due date for filing of tax audit report has also been extended to October 31, 2011.
