The Finance Ministry has extended by one year the validity of anti-dumping duty on flexible slabstock polyol imports from the US and Japan.
The anti-dumping duty will now be valid until February 4, 2014, the revenue department has said. This duty was to have earlier lapsed on February 5 this year.
The latest Revenue Department move follows the Designated Authority in the Commerce Ministry initiating a sunset review of anti-dumping duty on flexible slabstock imports from the US and Japan.
The Designated Authority had also recommended extension of anti-dumping duty by one more year.
Manali Petrochemicals, sole producer of Flexible Slabstock Polyol, had filed the petition seeking sunset review on imports of this product from Japan and the US.
Flexible slabstock polyol is a polyether and on reaction with catalysts and additives yields polyurethane foams used in upholstery, mattresses, pillows, bolsters, transport seating and packaging.
