The East Godavari district administration has written a letter to the State Government to cancel the NOC granted for mining operations in two villages following irregularities.
East Godavari district collector Neetu Kumari Prasad yesterday said a letter has been written to the Government to cancel the no objection certificate (NOC) which was accorded earlier for mining at Avelthi and Vanthada villages in Prathipadu mandal of the district.
She held a meeting with revenue and forest department officials yesterday where they briefly discussed the mining operations taking place in the villages.
After the meeting, Prasad said, “All necessary steps will be taken to stop mining operations in these areas and a letter has written to the Government to cancel NOC and take necessary steps in this regard.”
