The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) today said the pan-Indian body of over 10,000 engineers and 3,000 plus student members plans to set up a testing lab during the year.
The apex body of engineers, which has embarked on an initiative to spread awareness about developing energy efficiency buildings, plans to set up high efficiency home office, a semi residential demo office at ISHRAE ACREX 2011, an international exhibition being hosted at Bangalore during February 23-25, 2012.
The focus of the event is to showcase best practices on ensuring energy efficiency, according to Mr B.B.N. Prasad, Chief Consultant and a member of ISHRAE.
Addressing a press conference here today, Mr Prasad said the focus of the event is to bring more than 50,000 visitors to see some of the latest products and best practices through over 450 participants both from India and abroad. All major air-conditioning and heating equipment manufacturers, lighting solutions companies, consultants and architects are expected to partake in this event.
As an energy auditor and being part of ISHRAE, he said the focus is on spreading the message about energy savings through new design and energy efficient products. The testing lab to be set up by ISHRAE aims to provide quality testing facility for some of the Indian products and innovations.
“We believe energy efficient buildings through early planning will help reduce overall energy use, thereby bringing in savings,” he said.
