Exporters’ association FIEO has joined hands with e-Commerce major eBay and payment processor PayPal to provide small and medium enterprises (SMEs) access to global markets,.
The FIEO today signed a pact with eBay and PayPal to help promote retail exports, especially in the US and Europe.
“Our exports growth is depleting due to poor financial health of European Union and the US. We need to take extra efforts to market our products. We have adopted this method (e-commerce) to add export channels and reduce cost,” Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) President M Rafeeque Ahmed told reporters here.
The agreement would help exporters, especially the smaller ones, to set up their e-shops for almost four million items, provide them a global market place and instant payment.
The partners will also work together to help member companies understand export policies, procedures, incentives and benefits available to exporters.
Mr Ahmed said though India may fall short of achieving the exports target of $300 billion in 2011-12, this step will definitely help boost exports.
