The finance sector was the largest recruiter at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore with over 36 per cent of the total offers made. Out of the batch of 348 students, 332 students participated in the placement process and over 90 per cent of the batch had received at least a single offer by the third day of the placement process, said an IIM, Bangalore release. The 16 students who opted out of the placement process are pursuing entrepreneurship, according to the release.
Consulting sector companies made 31 per cent of the offers, sales and marketing about 21 per cent and seven per cent came from general management. Offers included assignments in London, New York, Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore. Out of the 105 companies that visited the campus for hiring, 35 were first-time recruiters. Goldman Sachs, Blackstone group, Bain & Co, McKinsey, Britannia, Hindustan Unilever, AT Kearney, Aditya Birla Group, Aviva and Airtel were among the employers that picked the students from the institute.
