The Centre’s fiscal deficit rose to ₹4,11,246 crore or 74 per cent of the budget estimate of ₹5,55,649 crore by October 31, according to data released by the Controller General of Accounts on Monday. It was comparatively lower at 68.1 per cent of the full fiscal target by the end of the September.
While revenue receipts grew at a healthy pace amounting to ₹5,90,738 crore or 51.7 per cent of the budget estimate, plan expenditure registered a robust rise to ₹2,70,690 crore or 58.2 per cent of the estimate by October end.
Total receipts stood at ₹6,10,374 crore, amounting to half of the full fiscal target between April and October 2015, as against ₹4,86,337 crore a year ago.
Meanwhile, total expenditure was ₹10,21,620 crore or 57.5 per cent of the budget target by October 31, 2015 as against ₹ 9,62,088 a year ago.
The revenue deficit stood at ₹2,87,553 or 72.9 per cent of the budget estimate by October 31, 2015.
