Goa, IIM-A ink pact to set up technology business incubator

The Goa Government on Sunday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad for setting up a Technology Business Incubator at Fr. Agnel Ashram at Verna in south Goa.

An incubator is a physical location that provides a defined set of services to individual or small companies which is an approach to accelerate the development of technologies industries and business skills.

The MoU was signed by the Regional Superior of Agnel Ashram, Rev. Fr. Saturnino Almeida of Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna, and Mr Michael D'Souza, Director of Science and Technology, on behalf of the Goa Government and Mr Kunal Upadhyay, CEO, IIM-Ahmedabad, signed the documents and exchanged relevant documents.

The Agnel Charities through Padre Conceicao College of Engineering has entered into an MoU with Centre for Innovation. Agnel Technical Education Complex Verna is setting up a Technology Business Incubator at Padre Conceicao College of Engineering with financial assistance from Department of Science, Technology and Environment Government of Goa.

Mr Upadhyay said that the thrust areas of the Technology Business Incubator will be clean technology, solid waste management, food processing and ICT and so on.
