The Coal Ministry has completed the groundwork for the next round of coal block auction which could kick off by end-June, Coal Secretary Anil Swarup said on Wednesday.
The Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy Minister, Piyush Goyal, said that there is no delay in the next round of auction and the Government has not committed a timeframe for it. He added that the auctions will commence soon.
On the issue of coal production, Swarup said a target has been set to raise Coal India’s production by 11 per cent in 2015-16 with the production target at 550 million tonne.
