Happy Move Youth Volunteers are back in Tamil Nadu. This is a global community connect initiative by Hyundai Motor Company where student volunteers from Korea will be involved in community initiatives for two weeks starting today.
The campaign includes medical camps and health awareness campaigns (domestic hygiene and first aid), as well as education and renovation work in schools and villages (tiling of government school floors, toilet installation and painting compound walls by Korean volunteers) in Sriperumbudur and Kanchipuram.
This inter-country event will also comprise of 30 Indian youth, says a press release issued by Hyundai.
Happy Move volunteers have been visiting India since 2008. They are sent to locations where Hyundai has a significant presence. The idea is to involve student volunteers since they come up with fresh ideas and hence it is an advantage to have them.
The volunteers, their team leader and a local representative from Hyundai assess the needs of the community and then they select projects, the release says.
