The Home Expo India, which will showcase a wide range of furnishings, accessories and decorative, is expected to generate business worth Rs 600 crore, Export Promotion Council for Handicraft (EPCH) said on Friday.

As many as 400 participants will display best of their products in the four-day exhibition starting April 15. These items include home furnishing, floorings, home textiles, furniture and accessories, house ware and decorative, the council said.

“This time we expect business generation worth Rs 600 crore from the fair compared to Rs 450 crore last year as we have got confirmation from about 1,500 buyers this time,” EPCH Vice-Chairman Arshad Mir said adding the buyers would come from new markets like Brazil, Uruguay, Coloumbia and Chille, he said.

Last year, the exhibition was attended by about 1,000 buyers.

The fair is segmented into three — Indian Furnishings, Floorings and Textiles Show (IFFTEX), Indian Furniture and Accessories Shows (IFAS) and Indian Houseware and Decorative Show (IHDS).

India’s handicraft exports have met the target of $ 3.3 billion set for the 2012-13 fiscal, despite a slowdown in the western markets.
