ICWAI Cochin Chapter conducted a one day seminar on Cost Accounting Record (Rules) and Cost Accounting Standards for the benefit of industries in Kerala. The seminar was held in the background of recent changes in the Cost Accounting Record Rules and Cost Audit Report Rules by the Government of India.
Companies having an aggregate net worth of Rs 5 crore or a turnover of Rs 20 crore or listed companies should submit a compliance report duly certified by a Cost Accountant. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India has also published Generally Accepted Cost Accounting Standards (GACAP) and 14 Cost Accounting Standards.
The seminar was inaugurated by Mr Goplakrishnan, President, ICWAI. Mr Ramdas S, Chairman, Cochin Chapter, welcomed the gathering and Mr K M Babu, Chairman, PD Committee, proposed the vote of thanks. Mr B.R. Prabhakar, SIRC Chairman; Mr Om Prakash, Central Council Member; Mr Padmanabhan, SIRC Treasurer, addressed the gathering.
The speakers were Mr Kunal Banerjee, Past President of ICWAI, and Mr Muraliprasad, Management Consultant, Chennai, who covered various aspects of the recent notifications issued by the MCA. The seminar was attended by senior managers from industries in Kerala.
