The index of industrial production (IIP) grew 2.1 per cent in June with a sharp growth in electricity but negligible activity in manufacturing.
“The cumulative growth for the period April-June 2016 over the corresponding period of the previous year stands at 0.6 percent,” said data released on Friday.
The IIP grew 1.2 per cent in May.
Meanwhile, retail inflation shot out of the government and central bank’s comfort zone to 6.07 per cent in July, as against 5.77 per cent a month ago.
Food inflation rose to 8.35 per cent in July as against 7.79 per cent a month ago.
