India has said that it will be interested in long-term contracts of oil and gas from Yemen.
This emerged at a meeting that the External Affairs Minister, Salman Khurshid, had with the Yemen Foreign Minister, Dr Abu Bakr Al –Qirbi here on the sidelines of the Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation (IOR-ARC).
Officials of the Ministry of External Affairs said that proposal will now have to be taken forward by officials of the Ministry of Oil and Natural gas of both countries.
Yemen also said that it will be interested in seeking investments from India in the oil and gas sectors.
