India and the UK will explore opportunities to work in the energy efficiency sector. “We are discussing a lot of possibilities on how we can work together. We are not on anything specific at the moment, we want to explore what could be done for the UK and for India,” said Baroness Verma, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, Department of Energy UK. Verma also unveiled the Indo-UK clean energy forum at the CII conference for Energy Efficiency Technology & Financing here on Friday. “It will be a very good vehicle in bringing together the engagement of policymakers, researchers and think-tanks,” Verma said. “We have already started to introduce long-term collaborations in clean energy especially with investments to the energy sector. We all share common difficulties around energy and we collectively recognise the importance of energy efficiency,” Verma explained. Verma also met Minister of State for Power Jyotiraditya Scindia to discuss initiatives that can be taken by the two countries.
