Indian designer duo to participate in Woolmark competition

The Indian designer duo of Pankaj and Nidhi Ahuja have been selected to represent India in the final round of the International Woolmark Prize award in London. They will present a collection that epitomises Indian craftsmanship with a global appeal.

The designers will compete against five other designers from Australia, China, Belgium, Japan and the US in the final round that will happen at London Fashion Week on February 16.

Launched in Australia in 1954, the International Woolmark Prize nurtures emerging designers and highlights the ease of handling and versatility of Merino wool.

The winner will win 100,000 Australian dollars (over Rs 50 lakh) and the opportunity to be stocked in famous boutiques such as Harvey Nichols in London, Bergdorf Goodman in New York, 10 Corso Como in Milan, Joyce in China, David Jones in Sydney, and Eickhoff Konigsallee in Germany.
