The Government announced on Sunday that collection of Goods and Services (GST) in the month of June was ₹95,610 crore.
It is slightly higher than ₹94,016 crore for the month of May but lower than ₹1.03 lakh crore of April.
Finance Secretary Hasmukh Adhia, who is also holding charge of Revenue Department, hoped that the average monthly collection will reach ₹1 lakh crore during the current fiscal. Adhia was speaking in a conference to celebrate GST Day here.
Adhia mentioned that hardly any inflation registered due to GST. Also it did not disturb GST growth and at the same time revenue level was maintained. It may be noted that GST was introduced on July 1 last year. It subsumed 17 types of Central and States indirect taxes besides 26 types of cesses.
