The State Finance Minister, Mr K. M. Mani, has said that the Government is implementing a new scheme worth Rs 1,000 crore through the Kerala Financial Corporation for entrepreneur training.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Kerala Chamber Entrepreneur Awareness Cell (KCEAC) under the auspices of Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry Youth Forum, he said the new scheme would train 50,000 youth from various panchayats for setting up new businesses.

Interest-free loans of Rs 10 lakh and Rs 20 lakh will be given to individuals and societies respectively for setting up SMEs. The scheme has a potential to employ 1 lakh youth in the State. The Government also plans to lease unused land in the outskirts of the city for cultivation.

He pointed out that proper guidelines are very important for a establishing a new business and appreciated the initiative taken by KCCI for setting up the KCEAC. The entrepreneur awareness cell will assist and help aspiring entrepreneurs and businesses by providing guidelines in getting all governmental support and financial assistance.
