Land will not be a problem in West Bengal, the Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, said here on Wednesday.
The state, she said, has set up its land bank and also firmed up the land use policy to facilitate investors. Attempts have also been made to provide clearances - under the 14(Y) section of the Land Ceiling Act - to investors at the earliest.
Speaking at the Bengal Global Business Summit, Banerjee said: "We have our own land use policy, land bank and land map. We have even ensured faster clearances and relaxations under section 14(Y)."
Although she did not mention whether the State Government would acquire land or not, Mamata said there will be minimal government interference in way of projects.
Core committees, headed by industry captains, have been set up in the state to facilitate investments.
