Constellation Aircraft Leasing Ltd has applied to the DGCA to de-register seven ATR aircraft of Jet Airways. Earlier, two other lessors had applied to de-register 11 aircraft.
According to an industry source, lessors are getting anxious over non-payment of dues and the dearth of EoIs from potential investors for the airline. “If on April 10, there is a positive outcome from the bidding process, the lessors might withdraw their application.
The grounding of aircraft is stalled due to non-availability of parking slots at airports,” said a source.
So far, only 28 out of 119 aircraft are operational, the rest have been grounded on account of non-payment of dues. Forum Gandhi
