The Andhra Pradesh Government has ordered a high-level inquiry into the alleged misuse of the helicopter used by Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, the Chief Minister, for his tours in the State.
Responding to a report in a local daily on sorties of the helicopter by certain staff for personal use, the Chief Minister's Office directed Mr Pankaj Dwivedi, the Chief Secretary, to probe the issue and submit a report.
Meanwhile, the Government also asked the Chief Secretary to look into reports of firing on Indian workers in the West African country of Angola. The Chief Secretary would keep in touch with the Ministry of External Affairs to get more information and initiate necessary action.
“All steps should be taken to protect the interests of our workers there,” a Government release said here on Sunday.
