The Bangalore Division of South Western Railway has improved passenger amenities at Bangalore City and Yesvantpur stations.

At the Bangalore City Station, five new deluxe AC retiring rooms have been provided along with a new queue system for passenger reservation in the station has been installed.

Mr K.H. Muniyappa, Union Minister of State for Railways, inaugurated the new amenities. Mr N.C. Goyal, Executive Director, Public Grievences, Railway Board, New Delhi, and others inspected both the railway stations along with the Minister.

According to Mr S. Mani, Divisional Railway Manager, Bangalore, “as per the new system now every one will be given assigned coupon (with numbers) and they can come back at the opening time to take the tickets,” he added.

At Yesvantpur stations, in order to decongest the railway station new exit gate, ample parking space, new concourse, five new booking counters and new platform shelter on platform No 1 has been provided.

Mr Mani said “although the congestion is still there out side in the market area in Yesvantpur, the boundary wall of the station at the approach side has been opened and roads are laid inside the boundary wall for smooth movement of the traffic to the station.”

“Existing exit has been provided for the vehicles to go out. It is also planned to provide tyre killer on this road within a week's time to prevent any vehicle from entering from the exit side,” he added.
