Cochin Shipyard Ltd has launched the twelfth of the 20 Fast Patrol Vessels being built for Indian Coast Guard. The vessel was named ICGS Ankit.
The shipyard has so far delivered 9 vessels in the 20 vessel series and the tenth vessel is getting ready for sea trials. The ninth vessel ICGS Ameya was handed over to the Coast Guard on November 20.
The Buoy Tender Vessel that CSL is building for the Directorate General of Lighthouses and Lightships was also launched on the 15{+t}{+h} of this month. The construction of Indigenous Aircraft Carrier for the Indian navy has entered the second phase, a press release said.
