Palakkad division of Southern Railway Zone has bagged the inter-divisional efficiency shield for safety.
A press release by the division said here that it conducted 19 safety seminars, 44 safety drives, 114 awareness programmes at level crossings and schools and 64 ambush checks during 2011-12.
There was no accident during the period.
Added to this, the commercial department of the division showed increase in earnings during the fiscal.
Considering this performance, Mr Deepak Krishan, General Manager, Southern Railway, presented the inter-divisional efficiency shields for safety and commercial to the Palakkad division recently, the release added.
