Freight rates fall on excess position of trucks

Freight rates for 10-tonne load declined by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market on Saturday following excess position of trucks against less movements of cargo.

Transporters said heavy availability of trucks against cargo movements, mainly pulled down some of centres freights.

Delhi to Ludhiana, Indore and Patna rates slipped by Rs.1000 each to Rs.19,000, Rs.20,000 and Rs.25,000.

Rates to Mumbai, Pune and Surat also moved down by Rs.1000 each to Rs.26,000, Rs.29,000 and Rs.24,000.

The following are today’s freights per 10-tonne load: Jaipur 15,000, Hyderabad 48,000, Chandigarh 17,000, Vijayawada 51,000, Ludhiana 19,000, Bangalore 61,000, Kanpur 18,000, Chennai 64,000, Indore 20,000, Mysore 65,000

Ahmedabad 23,000, Pondicherry 67,000, Baroda 25,000, Coimbatore 70,000, Patna 25,000, Kochi 73,000, Surat 24,000, Thiruvananthapuram 77,000, Mumbai 26,000, Goa 50,000, Pune 29,000, Gwalior 11,000 Kolkata 32,000, Guwahati 51,000.
