Freight rates up on low availability of trucks

Freight rates for ten metric tonne load rose up to Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport today following increased cargo movements.

Transporters said less availability of trucks into the market against increased movements of cargo, mainly pushed up some of centres freight rates.

Delhi to Mysore and Kochi rates moved up by Rs.1,000 each to Rs.62,000 and Rs.66,000.

Rates to Pondicherry, Bangalore and Coimbatore also looked up by Rs.1,000 each to Rs.60,000, Rs.57,000 and Rs.63,000.

Chennai, Mumbai and Goa rates too asked higher by Rs.1,000 each to Rs.55,000, Rs.23,000 and Rs.43,000.

The following are today’s freights per 10-tonne load: Ahmedabad 17,000, Hyderabad 41,000, Mumbai 23,000, Vijayawada 44,000, Baroda 20,000, Chennai 55,000, Pune 26,000, Bangalore 57,000, Surat 22,000, Mysore 62,000, Kanpur 17,000, Pondicherry 60,000, Kolkata 28,000, Coimbatore 63,000, Ludhiana 14,000, Kochi 66,000, Chandigarh 12,500, Thiruvananthapuram 69,000, Jaipur 11,500, Goa 43,000, Indore 16,000, Gwalior 11,000, Patna 25,000, Guwahati 43,000.
