Supply chain solutions company Gati has started road transportation of goods from India (Pune and Wadi) to Bangladesh on a direct door delivery basis.
The first shipments were booked by Aspee Agro Equipment of Mumbai and Kudale Instruments of Pune. These parcels were shipped for an exhibition and will be bought back to India after the exhibition, the company said in a communication to BSE.
Xpress International Ltd, which is partnering with Gati, will be responsible for import clearance and delivery of the shipments at consignee's door step in Dhaka. Gati has a network in the SAARC countries and provides end-to-end logistics solutions in Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal.
Mr Mahendra Agarwal, Gati's Managing Director, said, “We have now become the first express cargo company to start direct door delivery service from India to Bangladesh by surface express mode.”
