No-frills carrier IndiGo today announced the launch of seven new flights on its domestic network from tomorrow, including one between Mumbai and Jammu.
IndiGo will operate its new daily direct flight between Mumbai and Jammu, and Chennai and Kochi. It would launch second daily flights between Mumbai and Srinagar, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai and Trivandrum, Jammu and Srinagar and third direct flight between Mumbai and Kochi, an official statement said.
With the launch of these new flights, IndiGo would be operating 422 flights with 66 brand new Airbus A320 aircraft, connecting 33 destinations.
These sectors offer immense potential given the number of business and leisure travellers flying in and out of these cities, the statement said, adding these flights resonate the airline’s expansion plan.
“We are absolutely delighted to enhance our services out of Jammu, Srinagar in the north, Mumbai in the West and Chennai, Trivandrum, Kochi in the South with the launch of these new flights and we are confident that these additional services will prove immensely popular with our flyers,” said Aditya Ghosh, President, IndiGo.
“IndiGo would continue to expand its network to meet the requirements of both business and leisure travellers wherever they demand it,” he added.
On the international sector, IndiGo would be connecting Mumbai to Muscat with daily direct flights from June 15.
India and Oman would see an increase in frequency and would now be connected by seven daily flights in a week, up from four times a week, Ghosh said.
